Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming – The 1st time – July 11th, 2017

Turns outs going from Cody, Wyoming to Jackson Hole, Wyoming you have to drive thru Yellowstone National Park. So although we had planned on visiting later, we amended our plans and allowed time to see things in the Park during this drive thru.

This is just before you re-enter Yellowstone National Park coming from Jackson Hole Wyoming. Those are the Grand Teton Mountains.

It was later in the afternoon after we had been to Jackson Hole, Wy and what a difference a time in the day made for seeing the Wildlife. This herd of Bison/Buffalo, a couple hundred of them were right off the Road grazing. Funny thing happened on the other side of the road. A whole herd of antelope went running through a field and no one saw them because they were so focused on the Buffalo.

Went thru the Continental Divide and Staci is smiling like crazy because of course she is touching it.

Waterfalls were all over the place and this is the one we thought was the best we saw that day.

Of Course it is an active volcano, so we had to get a shot of the Mud hot springs. Yes it stinks like Sulfur and it smells like that in a lot of places during your travels thru Yellowstone. Interesting how none of the Travel Brochures mention that. Hmmmm!

This elk was one of a small herd that was grazing right off the road.

Our Drive was not over thru Yellowstone National Park, Cody is still a 100 plus miles home. But we had a fantastic Sunset over the Lake in the middle of the Park during our ride home, made even better by enjoying it together. Why No more photos, because it is Night people. We got more on our next adventure.
