Montana’s Capital, Helena- Fort Harrison RV Park-July 5th thru 6th 2017

So we visited Dan Dodge’s old Stomping Grounds, Helena, Montana……..I have been here a total of three times. For 2 weddings and this current voyage across the USA. Staci loved that it was the Capital of Montana and so that is the Photo in the main Post. She loved the Architecture of the place. We visited Dan’s old Home and no Surprise here Dan’s directions put us driving thru a pond in a pouring rainstorm to it. Had to use 4 wheel drive and it was dicey there for a minute. Leaving we left on the nice road the new owner pointed out and stated we would be crazy to come on the other way. Dan has a long history with being Directionally challenged, but in all fairness it has led him down the path (and I’m being generous with the word Path) game trail occasionally used, might be a better word to some amazing adventures and we all Love him more for it. What is Dan like, Well the fact that the paint store in Helena called Danzer’s still remembers him some 15 or more years after him going there tells you something. What I’m not sure, but something. So the following are photo’s of us enjoying Dan 15 years after he left Montana for his next Adventure. Hooo yahh Buddy

Yes Dan the store is still there

The kid in the photo was only 16 and still remembered you Dan. We were trying to pull up your last order at the Store. They thought they still had it, alas we could not find it.

They then proceeded to tell us stories of you and I had no doubt we were in the right place. Staci had to stand where they said you would saunter behind the counter to make sure they were giving you the Dan Dodge Discount for “The Best DAN Painting Company” They said something about not having the heart to tell you they raised the price prior to lowering it for you. They said you left Happy and that was what was important. Lol and no they are not giving you the money back now. I knew you would ask!

So Dan there is your old House, Notice the nice gravel road leading to it. Not the directions we had. Our route was more to the left through the woods, around the Bear tracks, Down the deer trail, by the house/shack falling down, thru the pond, I swear the Ducks were laughing at us, over the broken down fence and did I mention into the pond 2ft deep acting like a PT boat to get here. Oh and it was Thunder and Lightning. We were laughing thinking we survived the Drive only to be killed by Lightning outside your old Place. On the plus side, we will not forget your place. My Buddy Dan Directionally challenged and embracing it. Love ya Buddy
